The covers: They're adorable! I love the colors and simplicity of their outfits. Also a good point is how simple their hair is. The dark colors contract against the bright dresses.
Happy ! Stand Up: This is a good opening song. To me it says, "We mean business! But not too much, we're still cute too." I love the amount of solos. From what I hear it doesn't sound too unequal. The only downside would be how repetitive.
Kono Yubi Tomare (Tsugunaga Momoko, Tokunaga Chinami, Sudou Maasa): For some reason this didn't stand out to me after the first few listen of the album all the way through. It's cute and everybody sounds good. I'd like to hear more Momoko+Chinami. I'd like to hear more Chinami period. She has a cute voice but it isn't as in your face as Momoko's is.
Baka ni Shinai de (Shimizu Saki, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako): This might be one of the favorite songs from this album. It sounds tough. Risako really sounds good on these lower/stronger songs. Miyabi fits with the higher ones though she doesn't sound too bad here. Yurina sounds fine... not great but not bad either. Saki still has her uncomfortable voice but I'm happy to say it doesn't stick out very much here.
Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance: This isn't a new song but I haven't reviewed any of the singles on this album so here we go. I love it! I was okay with it at first but that grew into love the more I listened. It's just such a happy and fun song.
Ah Merry- go-round (Shimizu Saki, Tsugunaga Momoko): Maybe it's just me but... this reminds me of a W song. A possible re-do of a song from the unreleased 3rd album? Haha, I wish. Though wouldn't it be great to have that album released. This is a horrible (horrible!) thing to say, but if H!P starts to sink I hope they release W's 3rd album as a last resort. Anyways! Saki sounds very good here. People have complained about the strange pairing, but I don't think they sound that bad together. Momoko was able to take some of the squeak out of voice for this softer song.
CLAP (Tokunaga Chinami, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina): As someone else pointed out, this sounds like it should have been an early Country Musume song. I strongly agree! Especially with the opening. A bit of guitar then a "Ya-hoo!". It's a cute song. As a PV I picture this being sung on a little farm with a cute bubbling brook.
REAL LOVE (Sugaya Risako): I was very excited for Risako's solo after her comment that she was singing it in a different voice then she usually does. Risako isn't one of my favorite members but I'm definitely not a hater! She sounds very good here. I'm not a big fan of the song though I admit it fits her well. Maybe we'll be hearing more of this Risako?
Yume o Ichi Tsubu ~Berryz Kobo Ending Theme~ (Berryz Kamen): Did the opening remind anybody else of Koi no Jubaku + Kotatsu no Uta ~Jyuken Story~? This is another one of my favorites off the album. I absolutely loooove songs that sound unique and unusual like this. I'm glad Maasa got a lead song like this.
Dschinghis Khan: This is a big favorite of mine. It's just so much fun. I can't pinpoint anything, I just can't help but smile- not smile, grin! When I listen to this song.
Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi: This is a good song. I think I would have liked it a whole lot better with a different PV though... When I listen to a song I at least somewhat picture the PV when there is one. I see white, elegant things, and warm lights for this rather then bright colors and silly hats.
BE: Uhhh... not a favorite. I'm hesitant to say I don't like a song when I've only listened to it a few times. But I'm not into young kids singing. Because at that age it's not as much singing as it is yelling. And in the Berryz + little kids parts do I hear Tsunku in there? Haha, he's so goofy! I love him.
Special Generation ~Eccentric Remix~: It was fun to hear a classic on this album. But with a twist! As a remix I wouldn't think of it as very good. But as this album's ending song I love it. Sort of like an official "We're growing up and making a past for ourselves" announcement.
So overall! I liked it. It was Berryz and they've never been able to push me over the edge of "omg, I love this! *dies*" like Morning Musume does. But this album is above average to me on the Berryz scale.
4/5
